Infographic: Improvements

Here on the infographic I have made some slight changes to the design to improve the overall professional look of it all. I developed the centre core of the ‘Inner core’ of the Earth as this was too similar to the actual colour of the Earth and, therefore, didn’t stand out against it. I made this slightly brighter, and by doing this it makes it stand out more and juxtapose the harmonious colour scheme that runs throughout the individual layers. I further changed the borders on the lighter facts. This was due to the fact of them being small and too close to the text, so by making them larger it would make it more easily readable.

One factor I realised that wasn’t making it professional was the text itself. Some of the facts had spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes, meaning I went through them all and corrected this, along with placing apostrophes where appropriate and making sure the flow and readability was right so that it was suitable for the target audience.

Infographic: Final Adjustments

The first version displays the infographic when I had finished adding all of the facts and figures about the Earth. I arranged them as to all work together, and similarly with the colour choices which are used. Reflecting back on it I like the busyness of it all and how different facts make your attention jump around the poster. Though I had realised that some of the text wasn’t readable because of the stars in the background. I went back and changed this, making sure everything was readable and nothing overlapped on the infographic.

The second version is my final infographic which has been refined to make everything readable. I am happy with the overall outcome of this because it matches the same design from the website and smartphone application which I think works well, as well as it working as it’s own entity. The capitalisation of the typography makes it all bold and, essentially, works for the target audience as this will appeal to them. In retrospect I could have added a few more facts in the blank spaces or added a little bit more colour to appeal to the younger end of the target audience, though I feel this would have made the infographic too busy and ruin the aesthetic as well as not linking with the other platforms.
