The visualisation of facts and information was going to be distributed across the whole of the infographic to make it all eye-catching. My research of earth focused on facts which were directly associated with the Earth, looking towards the direction of the human facts and how we have had an influence on the Earth. This led me to create the visual of the spaceship which is drifting through space. I wanted to incorporate the information within these shapes as to interestingly display the facts, and how I have composed them I feel that it works very well. The fact within the ‘space trail’ is easily readable, and by using the same type of visual on the other side of the infographic it continues the design throughout and I think it represents them well.
For the spaceship I have chosen a simplistic outline of white so that it matches the rest of the design and creates an interesting aesthetic. I love the outcome of this because it doesn’t draw away from any of the components on the infographic, yet it works as an individual piece too. I positioned it towards the moon to reflect the moon landing facts that are also underneath the moon. I am happy with the overall layout of it so far because of the readability of all of the elements, plus it is suitable for the target audience of 11-21.
Here I have developed it further to combine even more facts into the visuals. In the bottom left hand corner I wanted to display a fact similar to the population one that is in the top right hand corner in order to create an element of reflectivity. I think this works because of the boldness of the trees which, similarly, there are seven to both work together. The vector based designs which are made out of bold shapes continues through to the element facts which make up the Earth. I tried displaying these with only a grey background on the circles, though this didn’t work. Therefore, I used the two colours of the Earth to reflect the circularness of the facts and this also makes them more vibrant and engaging, which I feel work for the infographic. By having these distributed across the whole composition it creatively displays the information, essentially working to compellingly grab the audience’s attention.
