Website: Composition

Similarly to Neptune, I wanted to experiment with the layout and composition of the facts. I wanted to see if the facts would work on many of the pages to create continuity between them. I still feel like they are overpowering and it makes the page look like too much text so I will decrease this so that it’s easier to read for the audience. I couldn’t decide on which colour worked better for the type because they are both easily readable, but I think the dark grey works better because it blends in with the space background which makes it feel less overpowering. The white also seems to be too bright. Further imagery would look great here, and maybe interactive 3D elements to display these to create more of a perspective and an exciting composition.

I have divided up the text here again by using the two different colours and I think that it works better than one block colour, although as I have said previously I still feel that it’s not working. This could be improved by shorter facts which engage the young side of the target audience that it is being aimed at, while also appealing to the large part of the audience to be interactive and displayed interestingly.

Website: Information

For the main part of the website, as it will be and informational and educational site, I wanted to use interesting facts that are displayed within the planets. I have had a go at this with the same typography as the titles, though this time more uniformed so that it is easier to read and will be more serious. Though, I don’t think that this is appropriate for my target audience because of the quantity of text within the planet and how it looks overpowering. I think that I could change this up by making it more interactive using the shards or further imagery/ illustration that engages the audience and is in-keeping with the rest of the website.

To develop it from the other planet I have changed the colour of the typography to make it slightly more interesting and to juxtapose the facts so that they are easier to read. Again, I like how this looks and the composition of it overall on the whole website works- but for the audience as well it could be positioned better. An idea I have had for this is to use shorter facts, more like statistics, so that this can be displayed interestingly and be interactive with the rest of the website, which would also be more appropriate too.
